Announcing Finix's $35 Million Series B Led By Sequoia Capital

2019 was an amazing year for Finix! We grew to more than 60 Finixians around the country–including recent executive hires from Stripe, Uber, and Fastly, expanded to five countries, and last July, we raised a $17.5 million Series A. All this to help our customers capture more of the $2T global payments market and provide a superior user experience to their customers. We are grateful and humbled customers like ClubessentialLightspeed POSKabbage, and Passport trust us with their most mission-critical business functions.

Today, we are excited to share that we've raised another $35 million in Series B funding led by Sequoia Capital to continue our mission to turn (almost) every software company into a payments company. We plan to use the new funding to hire more engineers, accelerate product development, and expand internationally. Acrew CapitalBain Capital VenturesActivant Capital, and Inspired Capital also participated in the round.

Pat Grady from Sequoia will be joining our board and we couldn't be more thrilled. Pat has developed a deep empathy for the end-users of B2B software watching his previous investments (e.g. Okta, Zoom, and Qualtrics) scale from startup to mature company. He truly understands the pain we're trying to remove from our customers' lives.

We're old enough to remember when payments were completely separate from the user experience. Today, customer-focused software companies have come to expect more. They're used to developer tools like Amazon Web Services, which give them the flexibility to customize their product without spending all of their resources maintaining infrastructure. Finix is doing for fintech what AWS did for web services. If you're interested in helping software companies build the perfect payments stack, please get in touch. We’re hiring for San Francisco, Chicago, and remote-based roles to help us meet growing customer demand for embedded payments and expand internationally!

Quotation mark

Building a payments operation is painful. Historically, software companies have had two options: either take that pain and integrate payments into your software or give it to your customers in the form of a disconnected experience. Neither of those is a great option, but thanks to Finix there’s now a third option: let Finix shoulder the pain, and use their developer-friendly building blocks to provide integrated payments for your customers”
