How it works
Switch your payment processor without switching your ecommerce platform. Finix is built so you can move from application to processing without a drawn-out integration.
What this integration requires
Finix connects to PrestaShop through a Cybersource Gateway integration, not a native Finix-branded plugin, so setup runs through a PrestaShop Marketplace module and the Cybersource Business Center rather than a native Finix plugin.
Payment gateway
Code changes
None. Setup happens in PrestaShop’s admin (Modules → Module Manager → Cybersource Official) and the Cybersource Business Center.
Command-line or Composer install
None.
Developer needed
Not strictly, but setup involves manually entering three separate credentials (Merchant ID, Merchant Key ID, Merchant Secret Key) and requires PrestaShop version 1.7.0 through 8.2.
Why merchants switch to Finix
Pain point | Finix solution |
|---|---|
PrestaShop Checkout combines multiple payment providers, each with its own pricing and payout model. | Finix provides one direct payment relationship with interchange-plus pricing through Cybersource. |
Merchants may have different settlement and support experiences depending on how PrestaShop Checkout is configured. | Finix uses an individual merchant account (Direct Merchant), giving merchants a direct account relationship rather than routing funds through an intermediary. |
Merchants want a clear support path when payment issues affect customers or cash flow. | Dedicated integrations support gives merchants a direct contact for payment questions throughout setup and beyond. |
Everything you need to accept and manage payments
Online, in person, recurring, or on demand. Finix gives you every tool in one place.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Finix connects to PrestaShop through a Cybersource Gateway integration, so your storefront, catalog, and checkout flow stay the same. You’re changing how payments are processed, not your platform.
Setting up Finix means disabling PrestaShop Checkout and making the Cybersource Official module your active payment method. You can't run them side by side. Your store, catalog, and customer data stay unchanged.
Not strictly. Setup happens through a PrestaShop Marketplace module and PrestaShop’s own admin settings, without custom code. You will need to manually enter three separate Cybersource credentials, and your store must run PrestaShop 1.7.0 through 8.2.
Nothing changes. Order history, catalog, and customer data live in PrestaShop regardless of which payment gateway is active. Switching to Finix only changes how new transactions are processed.
Yes. Both are confirmed through Cybersource’s own PrestaShop developer documentation, alongside eCheck and secure tokenization.
PrestaShop 1.7.0 through 8.2. Confirm your store’s version before starting setup, since the Cybersource plugin isn’t documented for other PrestaShop releases.
