Quick recap of Finix vs Shopify Payments

The biggest difference isn't the advertised processing rate. It's how payments are priced, supported, and managed as your business grows. Because Shopify applies its own third-party gateway fee when you use a processor other than Shopify Payments, the right choice depends on your transaction volume, average order value, and long-term payment strategy.

How it works

Switch your payment processor without switching your ecommerce platform. Finix is built so you can move from application to processing without a drawn-out integration.

  • Connect your store

Sign up for a Finix account (Direct Merchant), create a Cybersource Gateway integration, and complete Shopify’s own onboarding and KYC.

  • Add your Finix account details

Install the Cybersource app from the Shopify App Store, accept the Shopify and Cybersource terms (Access Agreement only), and configure your card brands and payment methods in Shopify’s Payments tab.

  • Go live

Transactions run through Finix via Cybersource and appear in both your Shopify admin and your Finix dashboard.
