Managing Payouts

Learn about the limits surrounding Payouts.

When you sign up for payouts, you'll also be granted access to a Payouts Dashboard. Note, for those who already use Finix Payments, this dashboard is separate from the Finix Payments Dashboard and is dedicated entirely to helping you manage your payouts activity.

Details you can manage and review includes your:

  • Payout history and activity
  • Recipients
  • Account balance
  • Payout limits

Please note, payouts can only be created and submitted using the Finix API. We're actively working on bringing this functionality to the payouts dashboard.

  • For details on how to create a payout to a bank account, see Bank Payouts.
  • For details on how to create a payout to a debit or credit card, see Card Payouts.

If you have any questions about creating payouts, reach out to your Finix point of contact or email the Finix Support team.

  2. Click view instructions for adding funds.
  3. Submit a wire to Finix and notify your Finix point of contact or Finix Support.

Account Balance Entry

When you add funds to your account or send a payout, a balance_entry gets created that you can view in the Payouts Dashboard. Each balance_entry corresponds to either:
  • An incoming wire
  • ACH and Card: These will correspond to bank or card payouts you have processed.

Usage fees

Fees for payouts get calculated outside your account balance. As a result, your Account Balance should only reflect the addition and debit of funds due to payouts.

Payout Limits

Finix incorporates limits on the volume and number of transactions you can do on a daily, weekly, and monthly rolling basis for both ACH and Card transactions. These rules help safeguard you against fraud and comply with card brand rules.

On the Finix Dashboard, you can view your limits on the Home page, Company page, and Recipients page.

Types of Limits

Finix has limits in place that apply to both:

  • Card Transactions: Card payouts sent to recipients.
  • ACH Transactions: Bank payouts sent to recipients.

These limits occur at the:

  • Application Level: Limits set at the Application level apply across all recipients. These limits get aggregated on a rolling basis.
    • An Application represents your account in Finix.
  • Recipient Merchant Level: Limits applied at the individual recipient level. These limits get aggregated on a rolling basis.
