Standalone Payment Experience on Your Pax Terminal

We're continually improving our Standalone Mode experience on Finix's Pax terminals, and the latest enhancements provide you with even greater control and streamlined daily operations directly on your terminal. This update brings a refreshed user interface and powerful new features, eliminating the need to constantly switch to the Finix Dashboard for essential tasks.

Getting Started with the Update

Supported Terminals

This update is available for the following Pax terminals the week of 2/3/2025:

  • Pax A800
  • Pax A920Pro

Requirements

The new features require:

  • Payment App version 4.0.0 or higher installed on your terminal
    • The App will typically auto-update, but if it doesn't, follow the update steps under How to Update
  • Standalone Mode enabled for your terminal

How to Update

If your terminal hasn't automatically updated, you can manually update by following these steps:

  1. Open the Pax Store App on your device
  2. Search for the Payment App
  3. Select Update

Manage Your Business Directly on the Terminal

  • Process Refunds with Ease: Issue refunds directly from the terminal, simplifying the return process for both you and your customers.
  • Print Receipts On-Demand: Easily reprint receipts for past transactions whenever needed, providing convenient record-keeping.
  • Configure Settings On-Device: Take control of your terminal's configuration by adjusting settings like tipping options and surcharging directly on the device, eliminating the need to access the Finix Dashboard for these common tasks.
  • Manage Authorizations: Quickly void or capture authorizations directly on the terminal, giving you greater flexibility in managing transactions before they settle.

More Ways to Take Payments

Manual Card Entry: Process payments even by manually entering card details directly on the terminal. This provides a convenient backup option and expands your payment acceptance capabilities.
